Howdy from Austin, Texas
TRACKRAT is a free community sprint club based in Austin, Texas. We meet for track workouts every Sunday morning and Thursday evening. All levels, all speeds welcome. No sign-ups, no membership fees — just show up.
Workouts are structured but not coached competitively. Beginners line up next to former collegiate sprinters. Pick the intensity that works for you, run hard, get coffee after.
When we meet
- Sundays at 8:30 AM — Sunday Sprints at the track
- Thursdays at 6:30 PM — Midweek Workout, location announced weekly via @trackratsprintclub on Instagram
Who it's for
If you've thought about getting back on a track and didn't know where to start, this is it. We welcome sprinters, distance runners, runners returning from injury, runners who are nervous about being slow, and runners who have never raced a day in their life.
What a workout looks like
We warm up together — dynamic movement, then a 400 at warm-up pace to get the body warm. From there the workout ranges from 400s down to 200s and 100s, covering about a mile of net distance. We cool down together at the end. You can pair up with people your speed, or with someone more seasoned to learn from.
