# TRACKRAT

> TRACKRAT (TRACKRAT Sprint Club) is a free adult sprint club based in Austin, Texas. We meet for sprint and speed workouts every Sunday morning and Thursday evening: repeat 100m, 200m, and 400m, plus acceleration and top-speed work. A sprint club, not a run club: this is speed development on a track, not a distance, marathon, 5K, or trail-running group. All speeds welcome. No membership fees, no sign-ups, just show up.

## Meeting Times

- **Sunday Sprints:** 8:30–10:00 AM, weekly, at Marshall Middle School, 4401 Tilley St, Austin, TX 78723 (Mueller / East Austin)
- **Thursday Midweek Workout:** 6:30–8:00 PM, weekly, at Yellow Jacket Stadium, 3101-3189 Hargrave St, Austin, TX 78702 (East Austin)

Both sessions run year-round.

**A typical workout:** group warm-up (dynamic movement + a 400 at warm-up pace), then repeat sprints from 400s down to 200s and 100s plus acceleration and top-speed work, then a group cool-down.


## Culture

TRACKRAT is structured but not coached competitively. Beginners line up next to former D1 athletes, and everyone works at their own effort. The club runs on five principles:

- **Uncompromising:** your 100% shifts day to day. We bring all of it, every time.
- **Defiant:** we don't follow the pack, we set the pace.
- **High energy:** cheer loud, run loud. If you can hear us from the lot, we're doing it right.
- **Welcoming:** first-timer or former D1 athlete, we line up together.
- **Iron:** sprint, career, or life, we're behind each other no matter how big the goal. Iron sharpens iron.

Also true of the club:

- **Beginner-friendly:** yes. All speeds welcome, from first-timers to sub-elite.
- **Drop-in:** yes. No commitment required; come when you can.
- **Coaching:** workouts are programmed (not freelance), but there is no individual coaching or paid instruction.
- **Equipment:** bring water and running shoes. The track provides everything else.
- **Vibe:** community-first. People stay for coffee after Sunday Sprints.
